It tells the story of Sabriya, daughter of a typical Damascene family, who has been since her early years facing the traditional social blockade imposed by the traditions of her society during the period starting a few years before the 1925 Syrian Revolution until the 1940s. Sabriya has tried to break the blockade, even by running away but it turns out that we are confined not only by traditions and customs, but there seems to be more difficult and tragic things when, for instance, dear ones fall ill or pass away.
The film depicts an agonizing episode of Syrian women's struggle to gain emancipation and gender equality.
