Synopsis:
The Slave.” A poor peasant is a victim of a usurer. He becomes a virtual slave who has to spend the rest of his life working just to be able to pay back the interest on the loan he took. “Khero al-Araj.” Depicts the methods used by the feudal lords to usurp the land from its owners. “Mint.” A child is sent to bring medicine to her ill mother. The landlord refuses to give her the medicine. She gets sent to bring mint instead, but she ends up going to the river where she drowns.
