Nabil Al-Maleh

Born in Damascus. Studied filmmaking in Prague Cinema Institute.
Since the early 1970’s he realized some documentary and feature films.
His first feature film was (The Leopard), considered as one of the best films produced early by General Cinema Organization. This film won the Jury’s Award in the International Youth Cinema Festival of Damascus 1972.
His film (The Comparse) won the Award of best Direction in Cairo Film Festival  and the two awards of acting in the Festival of Arabic Films in Paris, the best script award in Valencia Film Festival and and the silver award of Remini Film Festival.
Among his short films: (A Damascene Rhythm), (Napalm), (The Circle), (The Window), (The Rock) and (Flash).
Nabil Al-Maleh realized several TV programs.
He tends to experimentalism in his films within a new language research.
