Marwan Haddad

Born in latakia. He started his career in the Ploitical Administration of the Syrian Arab Army, before he went to Germany to study cinema.
In the early 1970’s, he moved to General Cinema Organization and realized his first film (In A Popular Quarter) which won the Special Critics Award in Moscow Festival,1973.
He realized some other documentary films and two feature films : (The Opposite Direction) 1975 and (Habibati Ya Hab Altout) 1979.
He practised film criticism in press and radio.
He was the president of Cine Club in Damascus.
He taught cinema in the High Institute of Dramatic Arts in Damascus.
He was the general Director of General Cinema Organization , Chief Editor of Cinema Life Review and manager of Damascus Film Festival between 1989-2000.
