Started his career in theatre and TV before he dedicated himself to cinema in the General Cinema Organization as a director. He assumed many administrative positions in the field of art. Among the first directors for General Cinema Organization. His first film was ( A Flower from the City)1965. He realized a number of documentary films. His films often have romantic themes. He seeks after a poetic realism. In his films he mixes a balanced artistic view with popularity. He is the most prolific among Syrian directors (19) films of which we mention: (The Jungle of Wolves) 1977, (Murder By Sequence) 1982, and (The Sun in A Cloudy day) 1985 adapted from a novel by Hanna Mineh. He was Died in 2004.
