Born in 1954, Syrian film director Abdullatif Abdulhamid graduated from Moscow School for Cinematography in 1981.
During his study, Abdullatif Abdulhamid made the following films: (Good Night!), (An Old Lesson) and (Upside Down).
He also made two documentaries (Wishes) and (Our Hands) in favour of the National Film Organization.
- (1983) Assistant director for “The City Dreams”, directed by Mohammad Malas.
- In 1987, he played the leading role in “The Daytime Stars”, directed by Usama Mohammad.
- In 1988, Abdullatif Abdulhamid directed “The Nights of the Jackal” - winner of the Golden Damascene Sword 1989; Best Actor (Asaad Fedda), 1989; the Golden Olive at the Mediterranean Film festival in Corsica (1989); Golden Award at the Debut Film Festival in Anounai, France (1990).
- In 1991, he made “Oral Messages” (winner of the Bronze Prize in Valencia Film Festival for Mediterranean Countries/Spain, 1992; Young Audience Award in Montpelier, France, in 1992; Award of Union of European Cine Clubs/ Montpelier, 1992; the Critics Award (Observateur Review) at Montpelier Festival 1992).
- In 1994, he made “The Ascent of Rain” (winner of Best Actor, Cinematography and Music Score at the 9th Damascus International Film Festival, 1995; Best Film Achievement and Critics Award at Carthage Film Festival in 1995).
- In 1998, he made “The Spirit Breeze” (winner of the Silver Prize at the Damascus International Film Festival in 1999; Best Actor Award at the Arabic Film Festival in Paris 2000).
- In 2001, Abdulhamid made “Qamaran and Zeitouna” (winner of the Silver Prize at the Damascus International Film Festival 2001).
- In 2004, Abdulhamid directed “Listeners’ Choice".
- In 2006 Abdulhamid directed  "Out of Coverage"
- In 2008"  Days of Boredom" the Best Arabic at 16th Film In Damascus International Film Festival
Abdullatif Abdulhamid wrote the scripts of all his films.
