Salah Dihni

One of the pioneers of the cinematic movement in Syria.
Born in 1925.
A film director and critic.
Novelist and short-story writer.
He studied medicine in his youth but gave it up to study cinema.
He graduated from IDIC , Paris in 1950.
He was the manager of the first film festival held in Damascus in 1955.
He was the Head of Cinema Dept.
in the Syrian Ministry of Culture.
He realized one feature film (Heroes Are Born Twice) and a number of documentaries.
He dedicated himself to film critique in press, radio and TV.
He published a number of books about cinema such as (The Story of Cinema), (An Invitation to Cinema) and (Cinema… Cinema).
